Our favourite Scandi-lifestyle books

Scandinavian culture, design and cuisine is a hipsters paradise, and it’s been taking the world by storm. But you don’t need to fork out thousands for a minimalist armchair to live a little more Scandi. Our fave three Scandi-lifestyle books below are sure to help you take a different (and hopefully more positive) perspective on your everyday life.

Lagom: The Swedish Art of Balanced Living

Living Lagom is a little bit vague at first, but this gem of a book gives you some top tips to living well the Swedish way. Declutter your home and mind, improve your work-life balance and embrace the benefits of the outdoors with this smart little book. Plus there’s a great cinnamon bun recipe too!

The Little Book of Hygge: The Danish Way to Live Well

Meik Wiking is an honest writer who really encapsulates the meaning of Hygge (pronounced Hoo-gah) in this sharp book. Similar to Lagom, but with a lot more candles and cosy moments with a coffee and a book – this is one of our favourite reads of all time. The book includes a number of interesting statistics too.

The Nordic Guide to Living 10 Years Longer

Our final fave in the Scandi range – this guide focuses more on how to live not only happier and healthier, but actually longer. Written by an actual Dr, this book is pretty blunt and to the point, but gives you some key messages to take away to improve your lifestyle. Well worth a read.
